The income statement can be opened to more people than the finance department, and the access can be restricted so that everyone sees only their own area.

## Add a user permission

The permission for the income statement is set on the user. Without it the report is not shown in the menu at all, which is the most common reason why someone "cannot find" it.

See [Introduction to permissions](/en/installningar/anvandare/introduktion-till-behorigheter).

## Control availability per category

The permission can be limited to one or more **categories**, that is dimensions. A project manager can then see the result for their business area without seeing the company as a whole.

This is the setting that makes it possible to share the report widely without payroll costs and the total result becoming common knowledge.

## The project manager's access to supporting documents

In addition to the report, the project manager can be given access to the supporting documents directly in the project, that is the entries behind the figures. That way a deviation can be sorted out without going through the finance department.

## What the user sees

With a permission per category, the user sees the income statement filtered on their categories, including the supporting documents if that access is given. Other categories are not in the report at all, they are not shown as empty.

:::note
Permission is not the same as the organisation tree in [Organisation](/en/loner/organisation). The organisation controls payroll and authorisation, the permission controls what someone can access in Kleer.
