General ledger
Produce the general ledger for chosen accounts or account ranges, with opening and closing balance.
The general ledger shows the transactions per account for a chosen period, with opening balance, the periodâs entries and closing balance. You find it under Accounting > Ledger.
Choose accounts
You decide which accounts the report should cover, and there are three ways.
- Search account. Type an account number or account name and add the account to the selection. The chosen accounts are listed under Selected.
- Interval. Enter an account range instead of individual accounts. If the range is mistyped, Kleer says Invalid interval and the report is not run.
- Ready-made selections. Quick choices that cover the most common parts of the chart of accounts:
| Selection | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Assets | The asset accounts |
| Equity and liabilities | The liability and equity accounts |
| Revenue | The revenue accounts |
| Cost of goods sold | The costs of goods |
| Other external costs | External costs |
| Personnel costs | The personnel accounts |
| Financial items | Financial income and costs |
You can combine several selections and then remove individual accounts from the result with Exclude. That is often faster than adding accounts one at a time, for example when you want to see all cost accounts except one.
Read the report
For each account, Opening balance, the transactions in the period and Closing balance are shown. If the closing balance does not match what you expect, it is often because the period cuts through the middle of a voucher, so check the periodâs limits before you look for errors in the bookkeeping.
The general ledger follows the financial yearâs locks. See Financial year for what the different lock modes mean.
Export raw data
Raw data (CSV) gives the transactions as a CSV file instead of the formatted report. Use it when you want to keep working in Excel or another tool. The file is UTF-8 with BOM, so Swedish characters are kept when Excel opens it.
The export holds at most 500,000 rows. If the selection is larger, Kleer stops with The export contains too many rows and tells you how many rows the selection gave. Narrow the date range or the number of accounts and try again.
