SEB: Transfers and currency exchanges

How you move money and exchange currency between the company's own SEB accounts directly in Kleer, follow the transfers in the list and see the account balances updated live.

Together with SEB, Kleer has built support for moving money and exchanging currency between the company’s own SEB accounts directly in Kleer. Transfers between two SEK accounts go through ISO20022, and currency exchanges through SEB’s Currency Exchange API. Through SEB’s PSD2 API you can also see all the company’s accounts with live balances.

Prerequisites

The functions are in the left menu under Bank:

  • Bank > Internal transfer is shown for companies that have at least one active SEB account with an ISO connection. It is activated automatically, and you do not need to order it.
  • The New transfer tab, where you create transfers and currency exchanges, requires that your user has payment permission in Kleer. Without it you only see the lists.
  • Bank > Accounts overview also requires payment permission, for expenses, salaries or supplier invoices. Being a finance manager is not enough.

For currency exchange and the accounts overview you also need permission in the company’s internet bank at SEB, see Permissions in SEB’s internet bank. For transfers between two SEK accounts, no special permission is required there.

The Internal transfer page has three tabs:

  • New transfer: create a transfer or a currency exchange.
  • Transfers: the list of your transfers and their status.
  • Completed trades: completed currency exchanges.

Sign with BankID

To make transfers and currency exchanges, you need to be logged in to Kleer with BankID.

Currency exchange and balances also require that you connect your user to SEB’s APIs by signing with BankID. If you are not connected, an information box is shown on the New transfer tab:

  1. Click Sign.
  2. Follow the BankID signing in the dialog that opens.

After a successful signing the page is shown again, and now you can also select accounts in currencies other than SEK.

The signing is tied to your user and is valid for 180 days. After that the connection is shown again and you sign again.

The accounts overview has its own connection, see Accounts overview. If you do not see any account balances on the Internal transfer page, you need to sign there as well.

Transfer between SEK accounts

On the New transfer tab:

  1. Select From account in the list. For each account, the account number, name, ledger account and balance are shown.
  2. Select To account in the same way.
  3. Enter the amount in Amount. The currency is shown next to the field.
  4. Write a Note if you want to. It goes with the transfer order and with the bank transaction that SEB reports back.
  5. Select the Transfer date in the calendar. You can transfer straight away or choose a later date. Weekends cannot be selected.
  6. Click Transfer.

When the transfer has been created, a confirmation is shown, and the order is sent to SEB within 15 minutes.

Exchange currency

If the from account and the to account have different currencies, the transfer becomes a currency exchange:

  1. Choose whether you start from the amount you want to exchange (I wish to exchange) or the amount you want to receive (I wish to have).
  2. Enter the Amount.
  3. Click Retrieve exchange rate. The rate is shown with Amount sale, Rate of exchange and Amount purchase.
  4. Click Exchange at present exchange rate to carry out the exchange.

The exchange rate is fetched directly from SEB and changes slightly every 15 seconds. You see the exact amount when the exchange is carried out. If the rate expires before you exchange, fetch a new rate and try again.

An exchange is always done immediately, because it must use the rate that applies at that moment. It cannot be scheduled for a later date.

Follow the transfers

The Transfers tab collects your transfers. The list can be filtered by status:

  • Upcoming transfers: registered but not yet sent to SEB.
  • Completed transfers: sent to SEB, or already confirmed by SEB.

For each transfer the following is shown:

Column What it shows
From The account the money is drawn from
To The account the money is transferred to
Transfer date Date and time of the transfer
Amount The amount, with currency
Reference The reference entered for the transfer

Under Completed transfers there is a PDF icon at the far right of the row. Click it to download a receipt for the transfer.

The Completed trades tab shows completed currency exchanges with, among other things, From, To, Transfer date, Rate of exchange, Exchanged amount and Received amount. There too you download a document through the PDF icon.

Accounts overview

Bank > Accounts overview shows the company’s accounts with current and available balance, updated live each time you open the page.

The first time, you connect your user by signing with BankID. The signing creates a key at SEB that is valid for 180 days, after which the connection page is shown again.

If you have connected to the accounts overview, you also see the balances on the accounts when you select them under New transfer. Next to the balance, an information icon shows when it was last updated.

Permissions in SEB’s internet bank

Currency exchange and the accounts overview require permissions in the company’s internet bank in addition to the ones you have in Kleer. Being payment manager in Kleer is therefore not enough. You order the permissions from your bank contact at SEB.

Function Permission in the internet bank
Transfer between SEK accounts None in particular
Currency exchange Initiate international payments
Accounts overview View account information for your accounts
