Authorise salaries, new insights

Get a full overview of the month's total salary costs when you authorise the salaries.

Get a full overview of the month’s total salary costs when you authorise the salaries.

When you authorise salaries you get a clear and combined overview of the month’s payroll run, with insight into your total salary costs, changes compared with earlier periods and the upcoming payment information.

The information is shown in four boxes that together give a secure and structured basis ahead of authorisation. Here you can easily verify the costs, check that staff changes and absence have been registered correctly, and feel confident that the salaries are paid out with the right amounts before they are approved.

Monthly salary costs

Here you see a summary of the company’s total salary costs for the current month.

  • Gross is the total gross salary before tax.
  • Tax is the combined tax.
  • Social security contributions are the total employer’s social security contributions for the current month.
  • Net is the total net salary amount paid out to the employees after tax.

Compared to before

Here you see the month’s gross salary cost compared with the previous month and with the same month the year before.

  • Compares the current month’s gross salary cost with the previous month.
  • Compares the current month’s gross salary cost with the same month the year before.
  • Shows the percentage difference compared with the previous month and with the same month the year before.

Changes

Here you see the changes that have affected the salaries compared with the previous month. Use the filtering to show the employees concerned.

  • New employees: the number of new employees in the current month.
  • Ended employees: the number of employees with an end date in the current month.
  • New salary: the number of employees with a new monthly salary.
  • Absence: the number of employees with registered absence.

Payment

Here you see a clear summary of the salary payment.

  • Payment date: when the salary is paid out.
  • Expenses: expenses that are paid out together with the salary.
  • Total payout: the total amount paid out, including expenses and other net salary compensation.

Tip

Tip

Filter the list of changes to show the employees concerned. When you filter on New salary, for example, only the employees covered by the change are shown.

When the list is filtered, you can take out payslips for just those employees by clicking the combined PDF icon at the top of the list. To go back to the list of all employees, click your filtered choice once more.

How are the figures affected during the month?

Monthly salary costs are based on the whole month’s salary costs. If you add an extra payroll run, the figures increase, and if you remove a salary, the figures decrease. If you authorise and pay part of the company’s salaries, the figures are not affected, since they are still part of the month’s salary costs.

Compared to before compares this month’s salary costs with the previous month’s salary costs and with the same month the year before. This makes it easy to spot deviations and follow the development over time.

Changes can give you an explanation of why the salary cost has changed in the current month. If you have new employees during the month, the salary costs increase. The same applies if someone gets a pay rise (a new salary in the employment contract that takes effect from the current month or where the latest monthly salary was registered during the current month but with a historical date). Absence can also affect the salary costs. Use the filtering options to get a better view of the employees concerned. Salaries that are already authorised and are waiting for payment or have been paid out are not shown when you filter.

Payment. The information in this box helps you make sure that the right amount is paid out at the right time. Note that the payment date is Kleer’s payment date and is not adjusted if you make manual adjustments. Your total expense costs are based on approved expenses that are expected to be paid out with this month’s salary payment. If the user chooses not to have the expenses paid out in the current month, the cost decreases.
