Customer base
The Customer base report shows how the company's ongoing contracts (recurring revenue) develop over time.
Here you see how the monthly value changes: how much is added through new contracts, how existing contracts grow or shrink, and how much is lost. The report is a good tool for following growth and churn in the recurring business.
What the report shows
The report starts from an opening value and a closing value for the period, and shows the change between them, broken down into several components:
- New contracts: the value of newly signed contracts.
- Increase on existing contracts: when existing contracts grow in value.
- Decrease on existing contracts: when existing contracts shrink.
- Completed contract: the value of contracts that have been lost.
- Change: the net change for the period.
Key figures are also shown:
- New sale: new contracts in relation to the opening value.
- Churn: lost and reduced contracts in relation to the opening value.
- Total growth: the closing value in relation to the opening value.
Background data for each change
Click an amount in the report to see its background data, which contracts and revisions are behind the change. The background data shows, among other things, Contract/review and Monthly value for each row. If you have not selected an amount, you are asked to click an amount above to see its background data.
How to use the report
Choose the period you want to analyse. The report calculates the opening and closing value and splits the change into new sales, increases, decreases and completed contracts, so you can quickly see what drives the development of the customer base.
