Custom reports with AI
Describe the report you want in plain language, and the AI assistant writes the SQL query, runs it and shows the result. Save the report and run it again whenever you want.
Under Custom reports you can produce a report without writing SQL yourself. You describe what you want to see, for example âcash flow per month for the last twelve monthsâ, and the AI assistant writes the SQL query, runs it and shows the result next to the chat. You then save the report and run it again with new parameters whenever you want.
Find your way here
Go to Insights > Custom reports. There you see the reports that already exist and can run them.
To create new reports you need the role Finance manager. The function is turned on per company. If you do not see the menu item, contact your consultant at Kleer.
Create a report with AI
- Click New report and choose Create with AI.
- Describe the report in the chat, in your own words. You can also start from one of the suggestions, such as Revenue per region or Cash flow per month.
- The assistant writes the SQL query, runs a test of it and shows the result as a table under Preview.
- If the result is not right, write in the chat what should be changed, for example âsplit by quarter insteadâ or âinclude only overdue invoicesâ. The assistant rewrites the query and runs it again.
- Click Save report when the result looks right.
Under SQL query you see the query that the assistant has written, and can copy it.
If the report calculates billing rate or utilisation rate, it uses the same calculation that the company has chosen for its dashboards, so that the figures match the rest of Insights.

Save the report
| Field | What you enter |
|---|---|
| Name | The name of the report, as it is shown in the list. |
| Group report | Tick if the report should run at group level. Otherwise it runs at company level. |
| Parameters | Values that are chosen when the report is run, for example a date range. The assistant adds them when the report needs them. |
| Roles | Which roles may see and run the report. At least one role must be chosen. |
Run a saved report
- Open the report in the list under Custom reports.
- Fill in the parameters, if the report has any.
- Click Run report.
- If you want to continue working with the result, click Export to Excel. The result is saved as a CSV file that you can open in Excel.
A report shows at most 10,000 rows. If the result is larger, it says under the table that it may be truncated. Narrow down the date range or the selection in that case.
Write SQL yourself
If you know SQL, you can choose Create manually instead of Create with AI. You then write the query yourself, try it with Preview and save it in the same way.
Good to know
- Do not write personal data in the chat. What you write is sent to an AI service so that the query can be formulated. Describe what the report should show, not individual people. The data in the report itself is not sent to the AI service. It is fetched directly from Kleer and is only shown to you.
- Check the result before you save. The assistant writes the query based on your description, and an unclear description can give a query that calculates something other than you intended. Compare a figure against a report you know.
- The roles control who sees the report. A role that may see the report sees the whole result, so choose roles with care if the report shows salaries or other sensitive information.
